Two Nidec businesses have taken home top honours at the 2026 Ellies Awards. Nidec Drives was named Best Supplier of Drives and Canton Elevator was named Best Supplier of Hydraulic Systems.

Organised by Elevator World, a long-established publication serving the elevator and escalator industry, the Ellies Awards recognise companies that show excellence in product innovation, customer service and industry leadership. The winners were announced on 30 September at the National Association of Elevator Contractors (NAEC) Convention & Expo in Chicago.

For Nidec Drives, the award recognises its continued leadership in drive technology and the part its drives play in elevator performance, efficiency and reliability. For Canton Elevator, it recognises a long-standing reputation for reliable hydraulic elevator solutions and industry-leading support.

There was further success for the Nidec Elevator family. Imperial Electric was named runner-up for Best Supplier of Motors, and Motion Control Engineering (MCE) was named runner-up for Best Supplier of Controllers.

The awards highlight the expertise, dedication and commitment of all four teams, as well as the strong collaboration across the Nidec Elevator family. Together, Nidec Drives, Canton Elevator, Imperial Electric and MCE help customers deliver smarter, more reliable and more efficient elevator solutions through a single trusted partner.

"Nidec are proud to celebrate success at this year's Ellies Awards, with both Nidec Drives and Canton Elevator winning their categories," said Anthony Pickering, President, Motion. "These awards demonstrate the depth of expertise and innovation across Nidec businesses and reinforce the commitment to delivering best-in-class solutions and support for customers. Thank you to everyone who continues to place their trust in Nidec. Nidec are proud to be your partner in moving the industry forward."
