Role Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Nidec Drives as Test Support Technician
The Test Support Technician will provide dedicated drive tester support within the Module Plant, ensuring reliable, efficient, and safe operation of all test equipment used in manufacturing.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Test Support Supervisor, The Test Support Technician, will Provide technical support for Drive Testers used in module manufacturing operations. Ensuring test systems remain reliable, efficient, and compliant with safety and quality standards.
Key Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Test Support Technician consist of but are not limited to:
- Delivering dedicated drive tester support within the Module Plant, ensuring reliable, efficient, and safe operation of all test equipment used in manufacturing.
- Provide technical support for Drive Testers used in module manufacturing operations.
- Ensure test systems remain reliable, efficient, and compliant with safety and quality standards.
- Support daily support of Drive Tester platforms in the Module Plant.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) to maintain optimum equipment performance.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment faults using circuit diagrams and diagnostic tools.
- Collaborate with Test Development Engineering to improve testing efficiency and stability.
- Assist in commissioning, validating, and modifying test solutions as required.
- Carry out risk assessments and implement safe working practices.
- Analyse test yield and reliability data using SPC tools such as MTTR and MTBF.
- Train operators in safe use of test equipment.
- Maintain 5S standards within the test areas.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements:
Essential
- City & Guilds Level 2/3 or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
- Experience with ATE systems and/or Drive Tester
- Ability to read engineering documentation including schematics and CAD drawings.
- Fault-finding skills using electrical and electronic diagnostic tools.
Desirable
- Qualified to a higher certificate in Electronics
- Experience with Test Stand and Agilent ICT Test Platforms
- Test experience or background
- Experience with variable speed drives advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of IEEE wiring regulations beneficial
